Welcome to St Edmund's Catholic Primary School

Our school is a welcoming, happy school where people are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. Our school is a vibrant, positive place that provides a safe and welcoming environment in which to learn.  As a Catholic School, we seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ. We promote these values by our words and deeds and recognising that every child is unique and is created in the image of God. Through our mission statement, “Through Christ, We Learn” we are dedicated to ensuring that our children uphold these values every day.

We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated team of teachers, support staff and other members of our school team, who strive to ensure that every child is successful, confident and responsibly, equipped with all the skills they need to continue on their future learning journey. Staff encourage the children to engage in our wide and varied curriculum and provide an atmosphere where children can fully develop their talents and learn new skills. We have carefully designed our curriculum to develop thinking skills, creativity and spirituality, encouraging confidence and opportunities for children to be excited about learning and challenged to achieve their very best.

We aim to cultivate first class partnerships with parents and carers, governors, our parish and the local community who play such an important part in the life of our thriving school.

I hope our new school website will give our parents, carers and prospective parents an insight into the life of St. Edmund’s Catholic Primary School. We warmly encourage families to arrange a tour of our wonderful school community so that you may see learning in action. Please do not hesitate to contact our School Office if there is anything else you would like to know about our school.

Thank you once again.

Best wishes

Mrs Amanda Ruthven

Executive Headteacher

School  Day
The main school gate opens at 8.40am and children can come into school ready for a 8.55am start.
If your child is going to be absent from school, you must notify the school office by 9am to let us know and also give the reason for the absence. If your child has an infectious illness it is vital that we know so that we can monitor the situation.
Every pupil's attendance is regularly monitored by the Education Welfare Officer. Good attendance is 96%+. Any attendance below that is monitored and if below 90% parents will be contacted.
If you need to take your child out of school for any reason during term time, you must complete the 'request for time out of school' form and give it to the office at least one week before the absence is due to take place.
Please be aware that not all time out of school requests will be authorised by the Head of School.
10.10am - 10.25am
Reception 11.45am - 12.45pm
Years 1-6 12.25pm - 1.25pm
School Ends
It is essential that all children are brought in to school and collected on time. Excellent punctuality has a very positive impact on your child's learning experience.
