Show Racism the Red Card

Friday 17th October 2025 - all day

Show Racism the Red Card At St Edmund’s, we believe that every person is made in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and love. Each year, we proudly take part in Show Racism the Red Card Day, a national campaign that challenges racism and promotes equality through education, reflection and action. Pupils and staff wear something red to show their commitment to standing against racism. Throughout the day, children take part in assemblies, class discussions, stories, and creative activities that help them understand what racism is, why it’s wrong, and how they can speak up with courage and kindness. This day is an important part of our school’s RJED strategy and supports our work on Catholic Social Teaching, especially the themes of Human Dignity and Solidarity. Together, we make it clear that racism has no place in our school, our community, or our world. “Love your neighbour as yourself.” — Mark 12:31
