Black History Month Assembly

3:00pm - 4:00pm, Friday 24th October 2025

Black History Assembly At St Edmund’s, we believe that every person is made in the image and likeness of God and that our diversity is something to be celebrated and cherished. As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we hold a special Black History Assembly to honour and learn from the lives, achievements, and faith of Black individuals past and present. Through pupil-led presentations, drama, music, storytelling and reflection, we celebrate the richness of Black culture and history, and recognise the important contributions made to our society, Church, and world. The assembly also gives pupils the opportunity to explore themes of equality, justice, dignity, and solidarity, linking directly to our RJED strategy and Catholic Social Teaching. This is a joyful and thought-provoking occasion that helps our school community grow in understanding, respect, and unity — living out our mission to love one another as Christ loves us. “For we are all one in Christ Jesus.” — Galatians 3:28
